Connections To The Brother Films
Some believe that Sisters is the unofficial third entry in the Brother film series. Besides the title and the gangster themes, all three feature Sergei Bodrov Jr. onscreen, who makes a cameo in this film as a possibly mob-connected New Russian. It is unclear if he is in fact Danila, the character from the two official Brother films.

Famous quotes containing the words connections, brother and/or films:
“The connections between and among women are the most feared, the most problematic, and the most potentially transforming force on the planet.”
—Adrienne Rich (b. 1929)
“The hawk is aerial brother of the wave which he sails over and surveys, those his perfect air-inflated wings answering to the elemental unfledged pinions of the sea.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“Television does not dominate or insist, as movies do. It is not sensational, but taken for granted. Insistence would destroy it, for its message is so dire that it relies on being the background drone that counters silence. For most of us, it is something turned on and off as we would the light. It is a service, not a luxury or a thing of choice.”
