Sigma Theta Psi - Vision

Vision

Sigma Theta Psi was formed on November 13, 1991 in San Jose, California by eighteen women seeking to solidify and immortalize the values and responsibilities, which embodied their persons. They strove to share their message of cultural diversity, respect, and compassion with other women. Through unity and sisterhood, the sorority continues to embrace diverse cultures and excel in life ambitions. By the means of honesty, loyalty, respect, open mindedness, leadership and academic excellence, sisters carry forth the vision of these eighteen women.

Famous quotes containing the word vision:

To stroll is a science, it is the gastronomy of the eye. To walk is to vegetate, to stroll is to live.... To stroll is to enjoy, it is to assume a mind-set, it is to admire the sublime pictures of unhappiness, of love, of joy, of graceful or grotesque portraits; it is to plunge one’s vision to the depths of a thousand existences: young, it is to desire everything; old, it is to live the life of the young, to marry their passions.
    HonorĂ© De Balzac (1799–1850)

One will meet, for example, the virtual assumption that what is relative to thought cannot be real. But why not, exactly? Red is relative to sight, but the fact that this or that is in that relation to vision that we call being red is not itself relative to sight; it is a real fact.
    Charles Sanders Peirce (1839–1914)

Whatever else American thinkers do, they psychologize, often brilliantly. The trouble is that psychology only takes us so far. The new interest in families has its merits, but it will have done us all a disservice if it turns us away from public issues to private matters. A vision of things that has no room for the inner life is bankrupt, but a psychology without social analysis or politics is both powerless and very lonely.
    Joseph Featherstone (20th century)
