Sieve C++ Parallel Programming System

The Sieve C++ Parallel Programming System is a C++ compiler and parallel runtime designed and released by Codeplay that aims to simplify the parallelization of code so that it may run efficiently on multi-processor or multi-core systems. It is an alternative to other well-known parallelisation methods such as OpenMP, the Rapidmind Development Platform and Intel Threading Building Blocks.

Famous quotes containing the words sieve, parallel, programming and/or system:

    It’s like pushing marbles through a sieve. It means the sieve will never be the same again.
    —Before the 1972 Democratic Convention in Miami. As quoted in Crazy Salad, ch. 6, by Nora Ephron (1972)

    If from the earth we came, it was an earth
    That bore us as a part of all the things
    It breeds and that was lewder than it is.
    Our nature is her nature. Hence it comes,
    Since by our nature we grow old, earth grows
    The same. We parallel the mother’s death.
    Wallace Stevens (1879–1955)

    If there is a price to pay for the privilege of spending the early years of child rearing in the driver’s seat, it is our reluctance, our inability, to tolerate being demoted to the backseat. Spurred by our success in programming our children during the preschool years, we may find it difficult to forgo in later states the level of control that once afforded us so much satisfaction.
    Melinda M. Marshall (20th century)

    Delight at having understood a very abstract and obscure system leads most people to believe in the truth of what it demonstrates.
    —G.C. (Georg Christoph)
