Propulsion Change-out
Based on the $900 million upgrading and maintenance plan, the C651 train is expected to have its propulsion changed due to age, jerky movements, wheel-slipping during wet weather and undergo refurbishment with wheelchair bound. The plan for this upgrade is scheduled from 2012 to 2016. With this, the motor sound is expected to be changed. However, no tenders had yet to be opened.
