Siam Shade

Siam Shade (stylized as SIAM SHADE) was a five-piece Japanese rock band, which broke onto the visual kei scene alongside a multitude of other artists in the early 1990s. They enjoyed a decade of relative popularity before disbanding in early 2002. On November 18, 2007, they reunited for a concert in honor of their recently deceased manager. On July 17 and October 21, 2011, the band reunited once again for free concerts dedicated to the victims of the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami. Outside Japan, Siam Shade is best known for "1/3 no Junjō na Kanjō", one of the many ending themes of the Rurouni Kenshin anime.

Famous quotes containing the words siam and/or shade:

Be careful about Burma. Most people cannot remember whether it was Siam and has become Thailand, or whether it is now part of Malaysia and should be called Sri Lanka.
    Alexander Cockburn (b. 1941)

Women hock their jewels and their husbands’ insurance policies to acquire an unaccustomed shade in hair or crêpe de chine. Why then is it that when anyone commits anything novel in the arts he should be always greeted by this same peevish howl of pain and surprise? One is led to suspect that the interest people show in these much talked of commodities, painting, music, and writing, cannot be very deep or very genuine when they so wince under an unexpected impact.
    John Dos Passos (1896–1970)
