In 1998, at the age of 18, Shweta married actor Raja Chaudhary. They divorced after nine years together in 2007. The couple have a daughter named Palak.
Shweta is in a relationship with actor Abhinav Kohli. Although Shweta talks about her personal life very rarely in front of the media. But in 2010, when she was inside Bigg Boss house, in an episode, where she was shown talking about her boyfriend to fellow contestant Sameer Soni, she confirmed that she is in love with television actor Abhinav Kohli. They fell in love with each other while shooting for TV serial Jaane Kya Baat Hui. They plan to get married sometime in mid-2013.
