Short Sharp Shock (band)

Short Sharp Shock (also known as SSS) are a crossover thrash band from Liverpool, England. They are signed to the music label Earache Records.

The band released a six track demo in May 2005, a four track EP the next year and their debut album Short Sharp Shock soon thereafter. Their label at the time was Thrashgig / Dead & Gone Records. Their switch to Earache Records meant the album was re-issued in early 2007 with bonus tracks.

In 2008 they released their second album, The Dividing Line, again on Earache Records. This also came with a free Sk8+Destroy 7" record, featuring British comedian Frank Sidebottom.

In June 2011 they released their third album, Problems to the Answer, on Earache Records. Upping the track count to 25 with Mark "Barney" Greenway from Napalm Death on guest vocals.

In July 2011 they changed their line up – Dave and Pete leaving the band and (another) Dave and Stu, from the Bendal Interlude, joining.

Famous quotes containing the words short, sharp and/or shock:

The names of those who in their lives fought for life,
Who wore at their hearts the fire’s centre.
Born of the sun they traveled a short while towards the sun,
And left the vivid air signed with their honour.
    Stephen Spender (1909–1995)

Young children scare easily—a tough tone, a sharp reprimand, an exasperated glance, a peeved scowl will do it. Little signs of rejection—you don’t have to hit young children to hurt them—cut very deeply.
James L. Hymes, Jr. (20th century)

a fortress against ideas and against the
Shuddering insidious shock of the theory-vendors
The little sardine men crammed in a monster toy
Who tilt their aggregate beast against our crumbling Troy.
    Louis MacNeice (1907–1963)
