Famous quotes containing the words professional, playing and/or career:

... all professional ideologies are high-minded. Hunters, for instance, would not dream of calling themselves the butchers of the woods.
    Robert Musil (1880–1942)

But the memories are not erased of that safest time in the lives of men, when their prime concern was playing games with guys who just wanted to be their friendly competitors. Life never again gets so simple.
    Frank Pittman (20th century)

John Brown’s career for the last six weeks of his life was meteor-like, flashing through the darkness in which we live. I know of nothing so miraculous in our history.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
