Sherlock Hemlock - Prevalence On The Show

Prevalence On The Show

While Sherlock Hemlock made frequent appearances on the show in the 1970s and '80s, in recent years he has been phased out in favor of newer characters. However, he, like Lefty the Salesman, Guy Smiley, and The Amazing Mumford, is still a popular main character on Sesamstrasse, the German version of the show.

Famous quotes containing the words prevalence and/or show:

The prevalence of suicide, without doubt, is a test of height in civilization; it means that the population is winding up its nervous and intellectual system to the utmost point of tension and that sometimes it snaps.
    Havelock Ellis (1859–1939)

    Men themselves have wondered
    What they see in me.
    They try so much
    But they can’t touch
    My inner mystery.
When I try to show them,
They say they still can’t see.
    I say,
It’s in the arch of my back,
    The sun of my smile,
    The ride of my breasts,
    The grace of my style.
    I’m a woman
    Phenomenally.
    Phenomenal woman,
    That’s me.
    Maya Angelou (b. 1928)
