Sherlock Hemlock - Prevalence On The Show

Prevalence On The Show

While Sherlock Hemlock made frequent appearances on the show in the 1970s and '80s, in recent years he has been phased out in favor of newer characters. Famous quotes containing the words prevalence and/or show:

The prevalence of suicide, without doubt, is a test of height in civilization; it means that the population is winding up its nervous and intellectual system to the utmost point of tension and that sometimes it snaps.
    Havelock Ellis (1859–1939)

Population, when unchecked, increases in a geometrical ratio. Subsistence increases only in an arithmetical ratio. A slight acquaintance with numbers will show the immensity of the first power in comparison of the second.
    Thomas Robert Malthus (1766–1834)
