She is good friends with fellow Y&R actress Melody Thomas Scott, although they portray a daughter-in-law and mother-in-law who hate each other on the show. Case was married to businessman Sandy Corzine from April 2007 to November 2009. Case turned down a large role on the HBO film Breast Men because she didn't feel comfortable being topless in a movie. Instead, she accepted a smaller, clothed role in the movie, which also starred FRIENDS's. Case is active on social networking website Twitter. In August 2012, controversy sparked when Eric Braeden (who portrays the show's long-running character Victor Newman, with whom Sharon had a relationship) had mis-interpreted one of Case's tweets. Speaking about the matter, Case stated: "I think what Eric misunderstood and misinterpreted a tweet that someone told him about because he’s not on Twitter. My guess is that it was a misunderstanding because I would never say anything bad about Eric on Twitter. I mean, why would I? Or about anybody. I rarely voice any opinions about storyline on Twitter."
