Breast Cancer Run
On 16 September 2010, Crawford completed a 780 km run from Rundle Mall in Adelaide to the Channel 9 studio in Melbourne to raise awareness for breast cancer. He took a total of 11 days to complete the run and as a welcome into Melbourne, ran the final leg into the Channel 9 Footy Show's studio where the panel and crowd awaited his arrival. Hundreds of 'pink ladies' who were affected in some way by breast cancer showed their appreciation and support by making way for Crawford as he ran into the studio. Crawford appeared humbled and initially struggled to come to terms with what he had achieved and the stories that he had heard along the journey from breast cancer sufferers and family/friends of those with breast cancer.

Famous quotes containing the words breast, cancer and/or run:
“O what to me the little room
That was brimmed up with prayer and rest;
He bade me out into the gloom,
And my breast lies upon his breast.”
—William Butler Yeats (18651939)
“Im beginning to believe that Killer Illiteracy ought to rank near heart disease and cancer as one of the leading causes of death among Americans. What you dont know can indeed hurt you, and so those who can neither read nor write lead miserable lives, like Richard Wrights character, Bigger Thomas, born dead with no past or future.”
—Ishmael Reed (b. 1938)
“It is very rare that you meet with obstacles in this world which the humblest man has not faculties to surmount. It is true we may come to a perpendicular precipice, but we need not jump off, nor run our heads against it. A man may jump down his own cellar stairs, or dash his brains out against his chimney, if he is mad.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
