New programs introduced in 2005 led to a ratings increase, following a relatively poor 2004.

Australian programming shown on the network includes dramas City Homicide, family dramedy Packed to the Rafters, soap Home and Away, Winners and Losers lifestyle shows; Better Homes and Gardens and New Idea TV, comedy/variety; Kath & Kim, Thank God You're Here, TV Burp, and Santo, Sam and Ed’s Sports Fever! gameshows; Deal or No Deal and The Price is Right, reality; The X Factor, Dancing with the Stars, Australia's Got Talent, My Kitchen Rules, Beauty and the Geek Australia, factuals; Medical Emergency, The Zoo, RSPCA Animal Rescue, Find My Family, The Force, Crash Investigation Unit, Border Security, SCU: Serious Crash Unit, Surf Patrol, Gangs of Oz, Beyond the Darklands, The World's Strictest Parents, Airways, Four Weddings, The One, The Amazing Race Australia, Please Marry My Boy, Pictures of You.

In 2012 Seven will add to its Australian content with new drama "A Place to Call Home" from the creators of Packed to the Rafters, a local version of Coastwatch, from 'the chasers':The Unbelievable Truth, Brynne Edelsten's Brynne: My Bedazzled Life, the return of Kath and Kim plus an untitled Kerri-anne Kennerly project.

Children's programming includes It's Academic, Spit It Out, Toybox, and Saturday Disney, now screening on 7TWO, as well as weekday blocks Total Girl on 7Two and K-Zone on 7mate.

The network has established output deals with a number of American production studios, including NBC Universal, The Walt Disney Company and ABC Studios.

Imported programming currently includes The Amazing Race, Revenge, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, How I Met Your Mother, Private Practice, American Dad!, Bones, Castle, Criminal Minds, Family Guy, 30 Rock, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Cougar Town, Royal Pains, Hung, Parenthood, Once Upon a Time, Parks and Recreation, Covert Affairs, Jersey Shore, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Downton Abbey, Outsourced, Body of Proof, Teen Wolf, Great Migrations. Upcoming titles include ITV's Vera, and Titanic miniseries and US titles: Whitney, Man Up, GCB, Up All Night, The River, Alphas, Missing, Bent, BFF, Scandal and Against the Wall.

Feature films broadcast on the Seven Network are sourced from its studio-output deals, including 20th Century Fox (starts 2013), Touchstone Pictures, Universal Pictures and Walt Disney Pictures.
