Role in The Community
The Museum acts as a centre for a number of heritage and community activities. The Round Table, the local model railway club and various other organisations hold events there.
The Museum is also used as a venue for public lectures and a start point for guided tours to places in the locality. In March 2007, the Museum hosted the "Spring in Sussex" rally of the 'Original Surrey Chapter UK' of Harley Davidson owners. 20 classic Harley Davidson motorcycles congregated at the Museum. In April 2007 the Museum participated in the "Your Big Sussex Weekend" event organised by East Sussex County Council.

Famous quotes containing the words role in the, role in, role and/or community:
“Language makes it possible for a child to incorporate his parents verbal prohibitions, to make them part of himself....We dont speak of a conscience yet in the child who is just acquiring language, but we can see very clearly how language plays an indispensable role in the formation of conscience. In fact, the moral achievement of man, the whole complex of factors that go into the organization of conscience is very largely based upon language.”
—Selma H. Fraiberg (20th century)

—Marilyn French (b. 1929)
“The heroes of the world community are not those who withdraw when difficulties ensue, not those who can envision neither the prospect of success nor the consequence of failurebut those who stand the heat of battle, the fight for world peace through the United Nations.”
—Hubert H. Humphrey (19111978)
