Famous quotes containing the words sea, service and/or ribbon:

    When the fierce north-western blast
    Cools sea and land so far and fast,
    Thou already slumberest deep;
    Woe and want thou canst outsleep;
    Want and woe, which torture us,
    Thy sleep makes ridiculous.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

    Finally, your lengthy service ended,
    Lay your weariness beneath my laurel tree.
    Horace [Quintus Horatius Flaccus] (65–8)

    I’ll tell you how the Sun rose--
    A Ribbon at a time--
    Emily Dickinson (1831–1886)
