The Scottish Widow
Three models have played the Scottish Widow, a hooded character featured in the company's advertising. The original Widow chosen to portray the company’s brand values in the memorable ‘Looking Good’ commercial in 1986 was Deborah Moore (the daughter of Roger Moore). In 1994, Amanda Lamb took over the role and portrayed the Widow through a period of immense change in financial services. Hayley Hunt became the third and current Scottish Widow in 2005.

Famous quotes containing the words scottish and/or widow:
“Better wear out shoes than sheets.”
—18th-century Scottish proverb, collected in J. Kelly, Complete Collection of Scottish Proverbs (1721)
“When you got to the table you couldnt go right to eating, but you had to wait for the widow to tuck down her head and grumble a little over the victuals, though there warnt really anything the matter with them. That is, nothing only everything was cooked by itself. In a barrel of odds and ends it is different; things get mixed up, and the juice kind of swaps around, and the things go better.”
—Mark Twain [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] (18351910)
