Scottish Media - Internet

Internet

STV's website STV Local is a Scottish network of hyper-local, community-based websites. Pilot sites have been launched in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Edinburgh, Moray and North & South Lanarkshire. The plan is to have a Scotland-wide network of sites up and running by late-2011/early-2012.

The Scotsman.com is based in Edinburgh but covers all of Scotland. Evening Times & The Herald covers mostly Glasgow and the West.

Newsnetscotland.com is a not-for-profit online news organisation which "support(s) major constitutional change for Scotland whether it be full fiscal autonomy, Devolution-Max or full independence" and provides coverage and analysis of the current independence debate. Newsnetscotland deals mainly with national political, social and economic issues and includes both commissioned articles and reproduced-with-permission pieces written by a range of respected Scottish journalists, economists and historians including George Kerevan, Lesley Riddoch, David Torrance, Gerry Hassan and Kenneth Roy.
