Hirsch was the founder and CEO of the Internet Video Group and TheGirlsHouse.com. He is widely credited as the first proprietor of live, interactive adult entertainment on the Internet, having launched the venture in 1996. Hirsch has been noted as a frontrunner in the concept of Internet affiliate marketing and web syndication, Internet reality shows and Internet web syndication Pay-per-view. Hirsch started the first-ever Internet-based opt-in data collection process during his early ventures in cybersex. In 1998 Time magazine called Hirsch, "a budding Bob Guccione," and reported he was grossing $300,000 a week from the venture. In 1997 Hirsch was credited with holding a first-of-its-kind, on-line national beauty contest, Miss Internet America.
