The videos sold well and received critical acclaim from critics, praising the animation, voices and story for it's originality. The success of the film and it's near-universal acclaim lead to a series of future direct-to-video Scooby-Doo feature films, and a new television series, What's New, Scooby-Doo?. The movie currently holds a rating of 86% on Rotten Tomatoes.
