On the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, on which Sarah Michelle Gellar played the title role, her group of mystery-solving, supernatural-fighting friends were called "The Scoobies" or the Scooby Gang because of their similarities with the original cartoon's mystery-solving team.
