Scientology Task Force Of The Hamburg Interior Authority

The Scientology Task Force for the Hamburg Interior Authority (German: Behörde für Inneres – Arbeitsgruppe Scientology) was founded in 1992 to monitor the activities and publications of Scientology, raise public awareness about the organization, and serve as a resource to Scientology members who may wish to exit the group. The Hamburg government made the decision to form the task force in 1991, after claiming in public statements that the Church of Scientology's aims included world domination and the destruction of society. Other German politicians stated that Scientology planned to infiltrate businesses and the government.

The Task Force was closed down in 2010 as a result of budget cuts.

Famous quotes containing the words task, force, interior and/or authority:

For the most part, only the light characters travel. Who are you that have no task to keep you at home?
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

I kept him for his humour’s sake,
    For he would oft beguile
My heart of thoughts that made it ache,
And force me to a smile.
    William Cowper (1731–1800)

The monk in hiding himself from the world becomes not less than himself, not less of a person, but more of a person, more truly and perfectly himself: for his personality and individuality are perfected in their true order, the spiritual, interior order, of union with God, the principle of all perfection.
    Thomas Merton (1915–1968)

Authority and power are two different things: power is the force by means of which you can oblige others to obey you. Authority is the right to direct and command, to be listened to or obeyed by others. Authority requests power. Power without authority is tyranny.
    Jacques Maritain (1882–1973)
