Scania has the mildest climate in Sweden, but there a great regional differences. The SMHI weather station in Malmö reports the highest annual average temperature in Sweden (+8.4 °C). The coldest month is February (0.0 °C) and the hottest is July (17.1 °C). The highest temperature ever recorded in the province is 36.0 °C (Ängelholm, 30 July 1947) and the lowest is -34°C (Stehag, 26 January 1942)
