• 1 June 1864 Ceded to Greece with the rest of the Ionian Islands.
• 30 October 1914 Occupied by Italy.
• 26 April 1915 Ceded to Italy by Treaty of London.
• 2 September 1920 Formally ceded to Italy by Albania.
• 1920 – 1941 Included within Italian province of Zara
• 1941 – 1943 Included within Italian province of Cattaro (within Italian Governatorate of Dalmatia)
• September 1943 – May 1944 Occupied by Germany.
• May 1944 Occupied by Albanian forces.
• 10 February 1947 Formally ceded to Albania by Italy.
