Famous quotes containing the words family and/or background:

We all of us waited for him to die. The family sent him a cheque every month, and hoped he’d get on with it quietly, without too much vulgar fuss.
    John Osborne (b. 1929)

I had many problems in my conduct of the office being contrasted with President Kennedy’s conduct in the office, with my manner of dealing with things and his manner, with my accent and his accent, with my background and his background. Lyndon Baines Johnson (1908–1973)
