Saskia de Coster was born in 1976. She began writing when she was just two years old. When she was eleven, she won a national story contest and was awarded the title of "Junior Journalist."
Saskia de Coster studied Germanic languages at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, between 1994 and 1998. In 1998, she received a Master's Degree in literary studies at the same university
