Sanjay Rath - Teaching Jyotish

Teaching Jyotish

Sanjay Rath uses Bṛhat Parāśara Horāśāstra, Jaimini Upadeśa Sūtra, Bṛhat Jātaka and Kalyāṇavarmā's Sārāvalī as the foundations of Jyotiṣa and teaches from various other Jyotiṣa scripture and sacred literature such as the Bhagavadgītā, Upaniṣad, Purāṇa, etc. His holistic teaching and writings span across various schools of thought, although not creating his own brand of astrology. He is a strict follower of the teachings of the ancient seers and is also a keen promoter for research and further development of the subject. To promote the teachings of his paramparā Sanjay Rath has formed a non-profit organization called Śrī Jagannāth Center where his advanced students are helping to spread Jyotiṣa in a way that keeps its spiritual roots. Students learn not only about Jyotiṣa, but also Mantra Śāstra, mudra, prāṇayāma, meditation, and the Sanātana Dharma.

Famous quotes containing the word teaching:

Give me the splendid silent sun
    with all his beams full-dazzling,
Give me juicy autumnal fruit ripe and red from the orchard,
Give me a field where the unmow’d grass grows,
Give me an arbor, give me the trellis’d grape,
Give me fresh corn and wheat, give me serene-moving animals teaching content,
    Walt Whitman (1819–1892)
