Geographic Distribution

Sango is widespread in the Central African Republic, with 350,000 speakers as of the 1988 census. It is also spoken as a trade language in southern Chad, where it is probably not spoken natively and its use is decreasing, and in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where it is rapidly spreading.
