Sangley Point National High School, with its total area of 6100 m²., is situated inside Naval Base,San Antonio, Cavite City. It is placed amongst residential units along La Naval Road inside the base and at its back, the Cañacao Bay. It is the formerly called Cavite National High-School Sangley Annex and has come to be named Sangley Point National High School after being made an independent national high school under Republic Act 9113 last September 10, 2001. The move of making it an independent national high school was spearheaded by the administrators of the school and the division at that time and the resolution authored by Cong. Plaridel Abaya. Presently, the school is catering to five hundred ninety seven (597) high school students, dependent and non-military dependents. Most of its students resides inside the base and the barangays situated near NBC. It is led by the Principal, Mr. Augusto D. Ferma, Jr., who has 17 teachers and 1 guidance counselor under his administration. There are thirteen (13) academic classrooms and one (1) non-academic classroom at the school.
REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9113
AN ACT SEPARATING THE CAVITE NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL ANNEX LOCATED AT SANGLEY POINT, CAVITE CITY, FROM THE CAVITE NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL AND CONVERTING IT INTO A FULL-PLEDGED NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL TO BE KNOWN AS THE SANGLEY POINT NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR.
Section 1. The Cavite National High School Annex located in Sangley Point, Cavite City, is hereby separated from the Cavite National High School and converted into a full-pledged national high school to be known as the Sangley Point National High School.
Sec. 2. The Secretary of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports, shall promulgate and issue such rules and regulations as may be necessary to implement the provisions of this Act.
Sec. 3. The amount necessary for the initial implementation of this Act shall be charged against the current year's appropriations of the Cavite National High School-Sangley Point Annex. Thereafter, such sums as may be necessary for the continuous operation and maintenance of the Sangley Point National High School shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
Sec. 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
