Salvador Pineda - Biography

Biography

Salvador Pineda is remembered for, among other things, his work on many Televisa soaps, including 1980s Colorina, alongside Lucía Méndez, and Mi Pequena Soledad, with Verónica Castro. He is also remembered for his soap opera Tu o Nadie with Lucía Mendez and Andrés García. Pineda, with García, were considered two of the sexiest Latino TV hunks of the 80s, appearing in shirtless pics and posters in magazines sold in all Latin America.

Pineda, especially, had a bodybuilder-like physique and hairy chest. He also had a unique gravelly voice. This combination saw him easily cast as a villain, or, less frequently as a gruff, edgy heroic lead.

Pineda began his internacionalization in 1984, when he worked in Puerto Rico as the star of canal 2's Coralito, with Sully Diaz. He returned to Puerto Rico in 1985, to film another telenovela with canal 2.

Pineda also made an attempt at a singing career, having released one CD. He was married to Venezuelan actress Mayra Alejandra, but then divorced.

Famous quotes containing the word biography:

In how few words, for instance, the Greeks would have told the story of Abelard and Heloise, making but a sentence of our classical dictionary.... We moderns, on the other hand, collect only the raw materials of biography and history, “memoirs to serve for a history,” which is but materials to serve for a mythology.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

Had Dr. Johnson written his own life, in conformity with the opinion which he has given, that every man’s life may be best written by himself; had he employed in the preservation of his own history, that clearness of narration and elegance of language in which he has embalmed so many eminent persons, the world would probably have had the most perfect example of biography that was ever exhibited.
    James Boswell (1740–95)

The death of Irving, which at any other time would have attracted universal attention, having occurred while these things were transpiring, went almost unobserved. I shall have to read of it in the biography of authors.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
