Salar Abdoh - Reza Abdoh

Reza Abdoh

In his adulthood, Salar Abdoh worked with his older brother, Reza, and his playwright company in 1995 until Reza died of AIDS (Faber and Faber, p. 2).. Abdoh likens Reza’s theater company to the general Iranian point of view as “looking at the world in an intensely emotional way” (“Becoming Uncomfortable”, p. 3). Reza, like his brother Salar, kept his Iranian identity hidden in his work as a thespian and in his everyday life as an American due to American distrust for Iranians at the time of the Iranian Hostage Crisis (p. 4).
