Chest Pain Network
The Saint Thomas Chest Pain Network is a division of Saint Thomas Health Services that coordinates with local emergency medical services (EMS) and hospitals to provide cardiac care services. The Chest Pain Network includes 15 hospitals in Tennessee and Kentucky, all accredited by the Society of Chest Pain Centers.
The Saint Thomas Chest Pain Network is among the largest networks of chest pain centers in the nation. The Accredited Chest Pain Center Model is an operational process for the care of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients, beginning from the moment EMS is called and continuing through discharge.
The Saint Thomas Chest Pain Network has extended the model to include different size facilities to provide treatment closest to the patient's home. This allows transfer into a specialized facility if additional care is required. In July 2008, the Chest Pain Network expanded into Southern Kentucky when Monroe County Hospital in Tompkinsville was added.
The Saint Thomas Chest Pain Network covers Tennessee and southern Kentucky. Members of the network include:
- Saint Thomas Hospital (Nashville, Tennessee)

—Gore Vidal (b. 1925)
“Eloquence is a way of saying things in such a way, first, that those to whom we speak may listen to them without pain and with pleasure, and second, that they feel themselves interested, so that self-love leads them more willingly to reflection upon it.”
—Blaise Pascal (16231662)
“Parents need all the help they can get. The strongest as well as the most fragile family requires a vital network of social supports.”
—Bernice Weissbourd (20th century)
