Responsibilities of Sahrawi Citizens
Sahrawi citizens enjoy a range of rights under the Sahrawi constitution such as those relating to participation in the political, economic and social life of SADR. Sahrawi citizens are also subject to a number of obligations, some of which reflect the particular circumstances of the Sahrawi Republic. The following obligations are imposed on Sahrawi citizens under Chapter Five of Sahrawi constitution:
- to respect the Constitution and the laws of the Republic;
- to defend the country and participate in its liberation;
- to defend national unity and fight against all violations of the will of the people;
- to participate in national service as may be laid down by law;
Citizens who are parents are also obliged to protect their families and their education while children must respect their parents.

Famous quotes containing the words responsibilities of and/or citizens:
“Most fathers will admit that having children does not change perceptibly the way they are treated or perceived in the workplace, even if their wives work. Everyone at his workplace assumes that she will take on the responsibilities of the children and the home, even if she too is in the office all day.”
—Anne C. Weisberg (20th century)
“It is not enough that France should be regarded as a country which enjoys the remains of a freedom acquired long ago. If she is still to count in the worldand if she does not intend to, she may as well perishshe must be seen by her own citizens and by all men as an ever-flowing source of liberty. There must not be a single genuine lover of freedom in the whole world who can have a valid reason for hating France.”
—Simone Weil (19091943)
