Russian Nationality Law

Russian nationality law consists of the Constitution of the Russian Federation (of 1993), the federal act regarding citizenship of the Russian Federation (of 2002, with the amendments of 2003, 2004, 2006) and the international treaties that cover citizenship questions to which the Russian Federation is a party. In accordance with the supremacy clause of the Constitution, international treaties of the Russian Federation have precedence over Russian domestic law.

Famous quotes containing the words russian, nationality and/or law:

    Grishkin is nice: her Russian eye
    Is underlined for emphasis;
    Uncorseted, her friendly lust
    Gives promise of pneumatic bliss.
    —T.S. (Thomas Stearns)

    Rarely do American parents deliberately teach their children to hate members of another racial, religious, or nationality group. Many parents, however, communicate the prevailing racial attitudes to their children in subtle and sometimes unconscious ways.
    Kenneth MacKenzie Clark (20th century)

    Our law very often reminds one of those outskirts of cities where you cannot for a long time tell how the streets come to wind about in so capricious and serpent-like a manner. At last it strikes you that they grew up, house by house, on the devious tracks of the old green lanes; and if you follow on to the existing fields, you may often find the change half complete.
    Walter Bagehot (1826–1877)
