Ruggles (MBTA Station) - Plans

Plans

Ruggles was a proposed stop on the MBTA's planned Urban Ring Project. The Urban Ring was be a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Line designed to connect the current MBTA Lines to reduce strain on the downtown stations; however, it has been shelved indefinitely.

A number of smaller projects in the corridor have been approved; among them is adding a second commuter rail platform to serve track 2 at Ruggles. A preliminary study recommended a full-length 800-foot platform located east of the busway bridge. As of 2012, the project is in design.

Famous quotes containing the word plans:

When I heard at the close of the day how my name had been receiv’d
with plaudits in the capitol, still it was not a happy night for me
    that follow’d,
And else when I carous’d, or when my plans were accomplish’d,
    still I was not happy,
But the day when I rose at dawn from the bed of perfect health,
refresh’d, singing, inhaling the ripe breath of autumn,
    Walt Whitman (1819–1892)

The important thing about travel in foreign lands is that it breaks the speech habits and makes you blab less, and breaks the habitual space-feeling because of different village plans and different landscapes. It is less important that there are different mores, for you counteract these with your own reaction- formations.
    Paul Goodman (1911–1972)

Man you ought to see his plans for allsteel buildins. He’s got an idea the skyscraper of the future’ll be built of steel and glass. We’ve been experimenting with vitrous tile recently... crist-amighty some of his plans would knock you out... He’s got a great sayin about some Roman emperor who found Rome of brick and left it of marble. Well he says he’s found New York of brick an that he’s goin to leave it of steel... steel an glass.
    John Dos Passos (1896–1970)
