Fire
On the evening of 11 October 2010, the disused school building was set on fire and around fifteen fire engines were sent to deal with the fire. Luckily nobody was hurt in the incident, and the police believed it may have been committed by the same arsonists who started a fire houirs later at Wilkinson Primary School in nearby Bilston. The building's shell was demolished within the next six months.

Famous quotes containing the word fire:
“The fire is the main comfort of the camp, whether in summer or winter, and is about as ample at one season as at another. It is as well for cheerfulness as for warmth and dryness.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“Why I love the ancients so much? Aside from everything else, when I read them, the entire past between them and me unfolds at the same time. The hearts of how many heroes and poets may have been set on fire by Plutarchs biographies which now inspire me with their own and with borrowed flames!”
—Franz Grillparzer (17911872)
“I thought I alone suffered,
but suffering is everywhere.
When I went on the housetop
I saw its fire in every home.”
