RPI Songs - Hail, Dear Old Rensselaer

Hail, Dear Old Rensselaer used to be the fight song during the 1960s. It is still played today by the RPI Pep Band at athletic events. At some point someone updated the words of the fight song to make it more politically correct than it was back in the 60's. Where it now says "We all must do our part" used to be "Each man must do his part" and the line "True to old Rensselaer." used to be "True sons of Rensselaer."

Famous quotes containing the words dear and/or rensselaer:

    My dear dear Mother,
If you don’t let me come home I die—I am all over ink,
and my fine clothes have been spoilt—I have been tost in a blanket, and seen a ghost.
I remain, my dear dear Mother,
Your dutiful and most unhappy son,
    Freddy.
P.S. Remember me to my Father.
    Frederick Reynolds (18th century)

Let us shun self-analyzation, self-consciousness, morbidness, affectation, attitudinizing. Let us look ahead as little as possible, keeping our eyes on our brushes and on the world of beauty around us.
    —Mariana Griswold Van Rensselaer (1851–1934)
