These include grand opera, operetta, tribute concerts, piano recitals, orchestral concerts, school events, lectures, graduations, fashion shows, dance of all forms, and floral theatre. Functions requiring a stage and auditorium style seating can be accommodated. Wedding ceremonies have been performed and the stage can accommodate a reception of up to 80. The Opera House has its own ticketing system but maintains a link to TicketDirect Network.

Famous quotes containing the words royal, opera and/or house:
“This royal throne of kings, this sceptred isle,
This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars,
This other Eden, demi-paradise,
This fortress built by nature for herself
Against infection and the hand of war,
This happy breed of men, this little world,
This precious stone set in the silver sea,
Which serves it in the office of a wall,
Or as a moat defensive to a house
Against the envy of less happier lands;
This blessèd plot, this earth, this realm, this England.”
—William Shakespeare (15641616)
“The opera isnt over till the fat lady sings.”
—Anonymous.
A modern proverb along the lines of dont count your chickens before theyre hatched. This form of words has no precise origin, though both Bartletts Familiar Quotations (16th ed., 1992)
“The house on the edge of the serious wood
Was aware, was aware
Of why he came there....”
—Philip Larkin (19221986)
