Royal Oak Station is located on an elevated portion of the Expo Line, a part of Metro Vancouver's SkyTrain rapid transit system. The station itself is in southern Burnaby.
The station is on Royal Oak Avenue at Beresford Street, a short walk south of Kingsway and Imperial Avenue. It was built in 1985 as part of the original Expo Line.
Famous quotes containing the words royal, oak and/or station:
“When other helpers fail and comforts flee, when the senses decay and the mind moves in a narrower and narrower circle, when the grasshopper is a burden and the postman brings no letters, and even the Royal Family is no longer quite what it was, an obituary column stands fast.”
—Sylvia Townsend Warner (18931978)
“The leaves are all dead on the ground,
Save those that the oak is keeping”
—Robert Frost (18741963)
“With boys you always know where you stand. Right in the path of a hurricane. Its all there. The fruit flies hovering over their waste can, the hamster trying to escape to cleaner air, the bedrooms decorated in Early Bus Station Restroom.”
—Erma Bombeck (20th century)
