Royal Liverpool University Hospital - Redevelopment

Redevelopment

In March 2010, the British Government gave the go ahead for a £451 million redevelopment of the hospital, which will make the hospital one of the most advanced in the North West of England (and the first in the country to have a separate room for every patient). The redevelopment will see the hospital having en-suite patient rooms throughout, a new accident and emergency entrance and a new large hospital garden. Subject to planning approval, the project is expected to start in 2012, with a completion date of 2016. Approximately £328m will be spent on constructing the new hospital, with the rest being used to buy new equipment and demolish the old hospital.
