Rose Nylund - Personality

Personality

Rose is something of a pushover who rarely stands up for herself. On one occasion her blind sister Lily tried to guilt Rose into moving to Chicago to take care of her. At Dorothy's urging Rose said no to Lily which forced Lily to learn how to care for herself. In The Golden Palace, Rose has a much more resilient will and becomes a much stronger personality after Dorothy's departure from the group (as Dorothy notes during her lone appearance on The Golden Palace-- "Seems Like Old Times"—when she states "When did she become the strong one?").

Famous quotes containing the word personality:

The habit some writers indulge in of perpetual quotation is one it behoves lovers of good literature to protest against, for it is an insidious habit which in the end must cloud the stream of thought, or at least check spontaneity. If it be true that le style c’est l’homme, what is likely to happen if l’homme is for ever eking out his own personality with that of some other individual?
    Dame Ethel Smyth (1858–1944)

Dogs got personality. Personality goes a long way.
Quentin Tarantino, U.S. screenwriter and director, and Roger Avary. Jules (Samuel Jackson)

It is remarkable that almost all speakers and writers feel it to be incumbent on them, sooner or later, to prove or acknowledge the personality of God. Some Earl of Bridgewater, thinking it better late than never, has provided for it in his will. It is a sad mistake.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
