Romanian Literature

Romanian literature is literature written by Romanian authors, although the term may also be used to refer to all literature written in the Romanian language.

Eugène Ionesco is one of the foremost playwrights of the Theatre of the Absurd.

The 2009 Nobel Prize in Literature was awarded to Herta Müller.
