Romania In The Eurovision Song Contest
Romania has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 14 times, debuting in the 1994 contest, with their best position being 3rd, achieving this at the 2005 and 2010 contests.
Since the introduction of the semi-finals, Romania is along with Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia and Ukraine, one of the five countries left that has never missed a final. Azerbaijan has as well never missed a final, but because they debuted after the semi-final introduction, they are not counted as one of these countries.

Famous quotes containing the words song and/or contest:
“Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away; for now the winter is past, the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth; the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. The fig tree puts forth its figs, and the vines are in blossom; they give forth fragrance. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.”
—Bible: Hebrew, Song of Solomon 2:10-13.
“The contest between the Future and the Past is one between Divinity entering, and Divinity departing. You are welcome to try your experiments, and, if you can, to displace the actual order by that ideal republic you announce, of nothing but God will expel God.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
