Rolls-Royce Motors - Cars

Cars

  • 1965–80 Silver Shadow—the first Rolls-Royce with a monocoque chassis; started with a 6.23 L V8 engine, later expanded to 6.75 L; shared its design with the Bentley T-series
  • 1968–91 Phantom VI
  • 1971–96 Corniche I-IV
  • 1975–86 Camargue styled by Paolo Martin with a Pininfarina body
  • 1980–98 Silver Spirit/Silver Spur—design shared with the Bentley Mulsanne

Bentley models were produced mostly in parallel with the above cars. The Bentley Continental coupés (produced in various forms from the mid-1950s to the mid-1960s) did not have Rolls-Royce equivalents. Very expensive Rolls-Royce Phantom limousines were also produced.

Famous quotes containing the word cars:

    The production of obscurity in Paris compares to the production of motor cars in Detroit in the great period of American industry.
    Ernest Gellner (b. 1925)

    Billboards, billboards, drink this, eat that, use all manner of things, everyone, the best, the cheapest, the purest and most satisfying of all their available counterparts. Red lights flicker on every horizon, airplanes beware; cars flash by, more lights. Workers repair the gas main. Signs, signs, lights, lights, streets, streets.
    Neal Cassady (1926–1968)

    Cuchulain stirred,
    Stared on the horses of the sea, and heard
    The cars of battle and his own name cried;
    And fought with the invulnerable tide.
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)
