Transportation Demand Management Program

RVTD's planning department includes a transportation demand management (TDM) program. Primarily funded by Region 3 of the Oregon Department of Transportation, the TDM program uses various techniques to promote alternatives to driving alone. Among these techniques are a group bus pass program, bicycle and pedestrian encouragement and education activities, carpool matching, transit marketing, and outreach to local government jurisdictions.

Famous quotes containing the words demand, management and/or program:

To be sure, a good work of art can and will have moral consequences, but to demand of the artists moral intentions, means ruining their craft.

    Thomas Carlyle (1795–1881)

In the Corner Store, near the village center, hangs a large sign reading: ‘After 40 years of credit business, we have closed our book of Sorrow.’
—For the State of Maine, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)
