Move Overseas
Davies was based based in the United States and England in the 80s and 90s. He took Sherbet overseas following their breakthrough international success of their hit single "Howzat!" (1976). They relocated to the USA in 1978 but were unable to break into the US music scene and eventually returned to Australia. By the time Sherbet split in 1981, Davies had ended his relationship with Sherbet and moved to Los Angeles, where he began working briefly for Lee Kramer, who was then managing (and was romantically involved with) expatriate Australian singer Olivia Newton-John. One of Davies' first clients in the USA was former Steve & The Board front man Steve Kipner, who wrote the song "Physical". And it was on the set of Olivia's ABC TV Special "Hollywood Nights" Produced by Lee Kramer that he met Tina Turner for the first time. Tina was later to be signed to Kramers management company.

Famous quotes containing the word move:
“The classroom, with all its limitations, remains a location of possibility. In that field of possibility we have the opportunity to labor for freedom, to demand of ourselves and our comrades, an openness of mind and heart that allows us to face reality even as we collectively imagine ways to move beyond boundaries, to transgress. This is education as the practice of freedom.”
—bell hooks (b. c. 1955)
