On 27 September 2012, Binny was appointed as one of the five members of the selection panel of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The term for the selection committee has been increased from two years to four years. The senior selection committee members' remuneration has also been raised from 40 lakh to 60 lakh, whereas for the junior selectors, the remuneration has been raised from 20 lakh to 40 lakh.
