Roddy Lorimer

Roddy Lorimer (born 19 May 1953 in Glasgow) is a Scottish musician who has performed with a number of bands, including Blur, Gene, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Eric Clapton, Suede and The Waterboys. He is currently a member of the horn section Kick Horns.

Lorimer studied the trumpet at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. His classical music background can be heard in his work on The Waterboys' single "The Whole of the Moon", the band's greatest commercial success. Lorimer includes another Waterboys recording, an arrangement of W.B. Yeats' poem "The Stolen Child", amongst his top ten favourite recordings of all time.

Amongst his influences in popular music, Lorimer cites Miles Davis and Chuck Mangione.
