Rock Bridge High School - Structure

Structure

Rock Bridge runs on a block scheduling format. This format is structured so that students have four 95 minute classes each day. However, these classes alternate each day, so there are 8 class time slots for each year. However, most students end up taking 7 classes per year. Most students have one Alternating Unassigned Time, referred to as AUT, during which students are allowed to go the library and computer labs, seek help from teachers, or, with parental permission, leave campus.

Famous quotes containing the word structure:

The verbal poetical texture of Shakespeare is the greatest the world has known, and is immensely superior to the structure of his plays as plays. With Shakespeare it is the metaphor that is the thing, not the play.
    Vladimir Nabokov (1899–1977)

... the structure of our public morality crashed to earth. Above its grave a tombstone read, “Be tolerant—even of evil.” Logically the next step would be to say to our commonwealth’s criminals, “I disagree that it’s all right to rob and murder, but naturally I respect your opinion.” Tolerance is only complacence when it makes no distinction between right and wrong.
Sarah Patton Boyle, U.S. civil rights activist and author. The Desegregated Heart, part 2, ch. 2 (1962)

... the structure of a page of good prose is, analyzed logically, not something frozen but the vibrating of a bridge, which changes with every step one takes on it.
    Robert Musil (1880–1942)
