Activities Outside The Class
As part of the Academy curriculum, the staff provide, atop regular classes, the following for the student body: monitored evening and weekend study halls to permit homework to be completed on time; a physical education program that includes indoor and outdoor sports, extracurricular clubs, and adventure training. Sports teams compete with area high schools in Zone II of SOSSA (Southern Ontario Secondary School Athletics). Varsity sports include basketball, soccer, wrestling, climbing and volleyball. Clubs and adventure training activities include weight lifting, boxing, mountain biking, archery, music, automobile restoration, fitness, SCUBA and parachuting.

Famous quotes containing the words activities and/or class:
“If it is to be done well, child-rearing requires, more than most activities of life, a good deal of decentering from ones own needs and perspectives. Such decentering is relatively easy when a society is stable and when there is an extended, supportive structure that the parent can depend upon.”
—David Elkind (20th century)
“The enemy are no match for us in a fair fight.... The young men ... of the upper class are kind-hearted, good-natured fellows, who are unfit as possible for the business they are in. They have courage but no endurance, enterprise, or energy. The lower class are cowardly, cunning, and lazy. The height of their ambition is to shoot a Yankee from some place of safety.”
—Rutherford Birchard Hayes (18221893)
