Death

Giroux died on September 5, 2008 at Seabrook Village, an independent-living center, in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, aged 94. At his well-attended subsequent memorial at Columbia University’s St. Paul’s Chapel, Paul Elie, another editor said, "It is tempting to float an analogy between his death and the death of a certain kind of publishing. But the fact is that his kind of publishing was rare in his own time, and so was he.".

Famous quotes containing the word death:

You’re very beautiful. So beautiful I’m going to make you immortal. Like Kharis, you will live forever. What I can do for you I can also do for myself. Neither time nor death can touch us. You and I together for eternity here in the temple of Karnak. You shall be my high priestess.
    Griffin Jay, Maxwell Shane (1905–1983)

I can only see death and more death, till we are black and swollen with death.
    —D.H. (David Herbert)
