Allegation of Sexual Assault
On June 21, 2012, Slate columnist Emily Yoffe published an article in which she stated that Drinan sexually assaulted her in 1973 or 1974, when she was 18 or 19 years of age. Yoffe recounted that after she attended a fundraiser for Drinan, he offered her a ride and, when they had reached her destination, he proceeded to kiss and grope her. Yoffe recalled that she fought off his advances and left the vehicle.
